For children, animals, nature, and the planet.

Join us in building a society organised around empathy!

Empathy-Based Society Institute (EBSI) logo features two white circles with red outlines, partially overlapping. The overlapping section is filled red and displays 'EBSI' in white capital letters, with the 'B' mirrored to face the 'E,' symbolizing connection.

It's not enough to only fight the existing reality. To change something, we also need to build a new model that makes the existing one obsolete.

Why?

Wars, poverty, ecological breakdown, and the killing of more than 80 billion animals every year look like separate crises. They share one root: a society organised around violence. Yet a different society, one organised around empathy, is already being built in fragments, by organisations, businesses, artists, researchers, and millions of people working to eliminate suffering and advance the well-being of people, animals, nature, and the planet.

What is missing is connection between us, a shared understanding of what we are building together, and the recognition that our collective power, currently scattered, becomes real when we see ourselves as part of the same transition.

How?

The Empathy-Based Society Initiative (EBSI) is a global effort to advance an empathy-based society as a coherent alternative to the current, violence-based one. It works by connecting the organisations and individuals already building this society in fragments, so their shared purpose and collective power become visible.

Stay connected

The empathy-based society is being built now, in choices we make every day: how we speak, what we eat, how we treat animals and the living world, how we raise children, how we run workplaces. Subscribe to keep this conversation close, to deepen your own practice, and to be part of a growing community that recognises empathy as the shared root of the work.
